Of Dionysus the Wanderer

November 02, 2008

Born of a virgin and with the new sun;

They crowned you the Solar Messiah.

Born twice and on thy fathers thigh

Resurrected, while Hera gave sigh.

Wandering, turning water into wine;

Wandering, performing miracles of all kind.

You, Traveling Teacher of twelve disciples,

Found no restraint from Pentheus’ shackles.

You were the King of Kings in the grace of Greece.

You were the Alpha and Omega of such great era.

The Romans adored you; as you induced Bacchanalia

Your cult invaded their order like a cancerous dionisia.

You are one of the prototypes of the Christ of this eon;

Merely an archaic astronomical calendar of the seasons.
