Aramís hears the music
Feburary 02, 2008
Today I awake
like no other day.
Today I hear the sound of music.
I think I’ll start the day with a shave,
and I hear the razor on my face,
I hear it scrape, scrape the hairs away.
I used to see my brother play,
picking away, picking away,
but now I hear the lovely chimes
as his fingers clip each string of his guitar.
I walk right into the kitchen
and I hear a drip, drip, drip.
Yesterday I wouldn’t have known,
“Father, the faucet is leaking.”
I head straight for the door
and I hear a bark, bark, bark.
I think the dog wants some attention.
Mother calls from inside,
never would have guessed
an angel could speak so sweet.
Standing on the edge of the street
I feel the ground rumble,
and oh I can hear the ramble
as the cars go zoom, zoom, zoom.
Someone greets me, how nice,
my own voice no longer a grumble
“I’m fine, how are you?”
Today I hear music everywhere I go.
You wouldn’t know,
But I hear music everywhere I go.
I have a favorite song I sing,
everyday I sing it,
and it goes:
“I love you very much.”
